We headed out for the long drive to New Jersey for the OSDP Workshop on October 14, 2011, as we passed through North Carolina I called my brother to let him know that we would be waving as we passed. He wanted us to stop so he could treat us for dinner. He invited us to stay overnight at his home, but when we told him of our scheduled trip; he asked us to meet him at an exist on the interstate.
We spent a short time together. He donated $200.00 for our Ministries. He closed his job down just to see us for a few minutes. It was dark by the time we made it to Richmond, Va. where we would stay overnight with my husband’s long time friends, Walter and Shirley Brown. They go way back.
We woke up to a meal fit for kings in their home.Mrs. brown enjoys cooking and she expressed it in this breakfast of many dishes. She set the table with sausage, bacon, eggs, home fries, grits, rolls, apple sauce, orange juice and coffee. We spent the better part of the morning there and we left for Washington, D.C.
We met Rev. Daugherty there, where we would stay at the Upshur House overnight. I was in awe when Rev.Levy Daugherty gave us a beautiful bowl of fruit. He took us to his favorite restaurant, the Upshur Street Grill. I felt in no ways worthy of such treatment, but because I am married to Rev. King; I can also receive this kind of love from the people that knows him. On Sunday October 16,2011, we attended Imani Temple on Capitol Hill ( African- American Catholic Congregation) with George Augustus Stallings, founder and senior pastor. His message” It’s Your Thing, But Is It The Right Thing”?
We made it to New Jersey just in time for the four day workshop. It was packed everyday with God’s living words, and songs of praise. With all of our affords we couldn’t bring the pastors that we have invested in for many years, but Rev. King made one phone call to a brother he had recently met while attending a rally in Washington, D.C.. that Rev.Levy Daugherty of the Kingmaker Foundation hosted.
This brother Walter Beach, not only came; but he brought his wife also. God has prepared new people out there to hear His word.We sat beside one of the 172 Clergy, Deacon George and his wife Rev. Dr. Tina Saxon. They shared their testimonies as we ate lunch and dinner together. Rev. Dr. Gilda Price brought tears to my eyes that wouldn’t stop falling as she shared her heartfelt testimony of her experience in Korea with True Father.
Walter Beach lll is CEO of The Amer-I- Can of New York , Inc. Jim Brown is President and founder of this same company in 1988. Jim Brown is a National Football League Hall of Fame and Motion Picture Actor. Go on line and search: The Amer-I-Can— together they are changing the”I Can’t to I Can”.
Mr. Beach was inspiried by my husband teaching of the Divine Principal at a “How we made it over” (Conference/ ralley) Hosted by Rev. Levy Daugherty, President and CEO of The KingMaker Foundation, in Washington, D.C.. This was on August 25, 2011 at the Memorial Library in Washington, D. C. Mr. Beach is so inspired by my husband’s teaching of the Divine Principal. They have been talking every since August, so they have a strong connection now. We know people that are an agents for change, we just need to connect them so we can make a larger impact.
She had us laughing and crying as her testimony demanded our full attention. When she talked about True Father feeling like He could go in a hole, reflections of True Father’s life played at record speed in my mind. They have given us everything, and “Now is the time” that we need to reciprocate that love. We all need to know that our testimonies are soo powerful, and with them we can help God find the lost sheep.
